During our Bologna food tours I love sharing one of the legends behind the birth of Tortellini.
It’s a funny tale that allows me to dive into the history of our region and break some myths about this iconic recipe which has evolved over centuries.
According to the legend, Tortellini was born in Castelfranco Emilia, a village perfectly positioned between Bologna and Modena
To honor this story and celebrate the beloved dish, the locals organize a special Tortellini Festival every September.
Did you miss it this year?
No problem, you have a second chance.
Mark your calendar for October 4th when Palazzo Re Enzo in Bologna will host another fantastic Tortellino Festival.
The city’s top chefs will be there, reimagining Tortellini in their own unique ways, paying homage to what’s famously called “Venus’ belly button.”
Will I see you there?
